Simple Stencil Card – Video Tutorial

Simple-Stencil-Card

Create this super simple stencil card with these great products from Simon Says Stamps.

If you are looking for a great way to create unique backgrounds on your cards, look no further than a stencil. There are many creative ways to use stencils on your cards. One way is to get some ink and a blending tool and spread the ink on the stencil and blend. There are also great masking techniques where you use tape to mask off the area you don't want to ink. You can also blend part of the stencil. The possibilities are endless!

Some of my previous experiences using stencils on things (boards, walls, etc.) haven't been that great. The paint would bleed through, and I would never get the clean look I wanted. So, I was a little resistant about using stencils for my cards. But as soon as I tried them, I fell in love. Not only are they easy to use, but the results are amazing. Here is another card I created using a stencil.

If you feel the same way, I urge you to try one. The price point is excellent, with most of them selling for under $10. They are very versatile, and you can create super fun and exciting backgrounds. They are an economical product to add to your craft supplies.

The inspiration for this stencil card comes from this week's Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge "No Stamps Allowed." The card has ink, but no stamps were used...just a stencil and die cut.

Bubble Wrap Card Stencil

The stencil that I used for this card is called Bubble Wrapand it retails for $9.99 on the Simon Says Stamp website. It's a long stencil 6" x 9" and is great for creating many background designs. Another great thing about stencils is they are super easy to clean. Just run them over water and the ink comes right off.

Best Day Ever Die

The other star of the card is this great die. The Best Day Ever Die is also on Simon Says Stamp website. When I saw this die, I knew I had to get it right away. It is one of my youngest daughter's favorite sayings. She even decorated her graduation cap with it this June! This die is two pieces. There is the quote part and also a shadow to the die.

You seriously create some of the cutest cards and make it much easier for someone like me to make them at home. I feel like cards like this mean so much more because you put time and effort into them. The video really helps too! I’m creative but not the best at projects like this so if I’m shown how to do it, I learn much better.
